Torte in Festa

Once again we got a special delivery from Italy in the form of a traditional Italian cake. We at the CC so do appreciate food gifts! I admit, readily, that I have NO idea what Torte en Festa really means. I can only think it means Party Cake? What it tastes like though---is GOOOOOOOD. Imagine a pastry like consistensy with chocolate drizzlied across the top and a chocolate ganache in the middle. Yummy! As you can see from the pictures, no one was complaining! Enjoy the photos......

Mother's Day 2009

I just love it when a holiday or birthday falls on CC day. It makes CC that much more special. This CC day was MOTHER'S DAY!!! So, you know who got the special treatement! That's right, N and Pet! The guys did the cooking-if you look close you can see KFC boxes on the table! Ha! N got a Jukebox and Design Studio for her Cricut and Pet got a gift card for Pike's Nursery-that she has already spent!

Fold-a-Sheet

Anyone who knows us or has visited the CC knows that we chase rabbits. What does that mean? One conversation leads to another to another to another and so on. Before you know it, we are talking about something totally unrelated from what we started with. Such was the case yesterday. Only this time-it got serious. Imagine a conversation starting with going to a festival and the next the know you are taking pictures of people folding a sheet! Folding a sheet? Yes, folding a sheet! Something people do every day-a mundane chore-made in to one of the funniest things ever! The pictures just do not do it justice but we did have a good time. It turns out that Hien used to work a production line in a factory where she (and a partner) folded sheets for packaging. Somehow, Pet learned of this and thought it was the coolest thing she had ever seen and wanted everyone else to see-thus a DEMONSTRATION. We all gathered in N and Boo's bedroom to watch. Everyone know how hard it is to fold a fitted sheet-you can never get those corners lined up. But if you have an extra pair of hands (or if you want to run back and forth) you can get a perfect fold ever time the way Hien does it. Check out the new album to see for yourself. And, yes, I know....WE ARE CRAZY!

Uncle Dunc's B-day 2009

Boy how the days are flying by! I can't believe it, but we have had this new site for almost a year now! In the last month we have missed several CC because our hostess with the mostest has been out of town. We did get together this past Sunday though! And, it was a very special CC! We got to celebrate Uncle Dunc's birthday-which was actually on the 2nd-but when you are THAT OLD what does a few days matter? Ha!!! Of course we had to get him a special gift and you won't believe what we came up with! Yep that is a HUGE coffee cup! I personalized it myself..Micheals' has everything!!! On one side it says "The Dunson Coffee Club April 2, 2009" and on the other side everyone signed it. I think he really liked it!!!

No Coffee Club

Well, we knew we were not going to have CC this week because Boo was set to leave to go see Jay in Denver. So, you know what the rest of us had up our sleeves, right? Cracker Barrell of course! Pet, Ricky, Hien and Dunc got to go but I did not. Unfortunately I have some bad news to share. I got a text message from Kenneth while I was in church that Button was not doing well. This is the long story short: We took him to the emergency vet where he stayed until early Monday morning. I picked him up there only to transport him to the regular vet. He had intestinal parasites which means he can't hold food and basically his sugar went down to 30. He is unable to retain his weight and has been on and off an IV. I only had Button for a week but I miss him like crazy. It just broke my heart. Okay, enough bad stuff! Hopefully there will be a better posting next week!

THREE more visitors!!!

What a busy CC we had today! There was so much going on, time just flew by! First of all, we had three more visitors-that is two weeks in a row! This time Tyler-Hien's nephew-and his best buddy, Wesley came to visit. You can find their pictures in the Visitors album. Well, actually they had spent the night with Hien and Ricky so they sorta had to come. After they ate they went outside to play with Ricky's RC Jeep-they weren't much for sitting around with us and talking. I think they had a good time though-no complaints! You must be wondering who the third visitor was. Well, actually, he isn't just a visitor, he was instantly promoted to Member (that is where you will find his picture). Why it was Button! That's right!!! Kim got a brand new toy poodle puppy. He is precious to say the least. Everyone fell in love! He actually got the CC moving because we all went outside to watch him run around. Can you imagine nine people watching one little dog in the front yard? I bet the neighbors thought we were nuts! Everyone got a chance to hold him and we took plenty of pictures and some video too! He is a great addition to the family! Now, if that is not enough. We actually played a game at CC this week. Two of the members (I won't call any names!) got together and conspired against everyone else. We morphed everyone's pictures together and everyone had to figure out what part of the new face was who. It is hilarous! Can you imagine Boo's eyes with N's nose and Hien's mouth? If you can't you can see the pictures we came up with under Pictures! in the album Who? Which? What?. Go to the bathroom before you look at them though-you will be glad you did!

San Antonio Hostess Visits Sharpsburg Office

We at the CC know we are blessed but felt it extra this past weekend when we got a special visit. The SAH herself got to come visit! She got to spend an extra long weekend with us. We got to go bowling, hang out playing on the computer, go downtown to Hard Rock and go to the top of the Westin downtown. The most fun was just hanging out at Boo and N's for Coffee Club though (of course!). Along with her with got two other visitors, her brother, Paul, and his daughter, Jordan. Now, Paul and Jordan do not live far away at all. But, we NEVER get to see them (hint hint) except when Sissy comes to visit. That is the only thing that will slow Paul down enough for him to just sit (and it kills him!) We got some great pictures while they where here and you can see them on the Pictures! page in the album Visitors. Take care all!

Gifts from Italy

This morning we the CC went from sausage and biscuits to a taste of Italy. The TPH from Italy, Susan, sent us all a treat back with her son, Joseph. It is called Limoncello Cake. Limoncello is a liquor made with lemons and sugar and a favorite of the Italians but the cake just had the flavor not the liquor! As many of you know, Dunc NEVER eats at CC. He just sits there and has his coffee while we eat. But this time, he couldn't resist!!! And for him to eat something sweet on top of that!?! I should have known it would take something from half way around the world to get him to break his diet! Ha! It was a cool treat and we thank the Italian satellite office for the thinking of us here in good ole Sharpsburg! To see us see us enjoying our treat, go to the Pictures! page and click on the Limoncello album.
