No Coffee Club

Well, we knew we were not going to have CC this week because Boo was set to leave to go see Jay in Denver. So, you know what the rest of us had up our sleeves, right? Cracker Barrell of course! Pet, Ricky, Hien and Dunc got to go but I did not. Unfortunately I have some bad news to share. I got a text message from Kenneth while I was in church that Button was not doing well. This is the long story short: We took him to the emergency vet where he stayed until early Monday morning. I picked him up there only to transport him to the regular vet. He had intestinal parasites which means he can't hold food and basically his sugar went down to 30. He is unable to retain his weight and has been on and off an IV. I only had Button for a week but I miss him like crazy. It just broke my heart. Okay, enough bad stuff! Hopefully there will be a better posting next week!

THREE more visitors!!!

What a busy CC we had today! There was so much going on, time just flew by! First of all, we had three more visitors-that is two weeks in a row! This time Tyler-Hien's nephew-and his best buddy, Wesley came to visit. You can find their pictures in the Visitors album. Well, actually they had spent the night with Hien and Ricky so they sorta had to come. After they ate they went outside to play with Ricky's RC Jeep-they weren't much for sitting around with us and talking. I think they had a good time though-no complaints! You must be wondering who the third visitor was. Well, actually, he isn't just a visitor, he was instantly promoted to Member (that is where you will find his picture). Why it was Button! That's right!!! Kim got a brand new toy poodle puppy. He is precious to say the least. Everyone fell in love! He actually got the CC moving because we all went outside to watch him run around. Can you imagine nine people watching one little dog in the front yard? I bet the neighbors thought we were nuts! Everyone got a chance to hold him and we took plenty of pictures and some video too! He is a great addition to the family! Now, if that is not enough. We actually played a game at CC this week. Two of the members (I won't call any names!) got together and conspired against everyone else. We morphed everyone's pictures together and everyone had to figure out what part of the new face was who. It is hilarous! Can you imagine Boo's eyes with N's nose and Hien's mouth? If you can't you can see the pictures we came up with under Pictures! in the album Who? Which? What?. Go to the bathroom before you look at them though-you will be glad you did!

San Antonio Hostess Visits Sharpsburg Office

We at the CC know we are blessed but felt it extra this past weekend when we got a special visit. The SAH herself got to come visit! She got to spend an extra long weekend with us. We got to go bowling, hang out playing on the computer, go downtown to Hard Rock and go to the top of the Westin downtown. The most fun was just hanging out at Boo and N's for Coffee Club though (of course!). Along with her with got two other visitors, her brother, Paul, and his daughter, Jordan. Now, Paul and Jordan do not live far away at all. But, we NEVER get to see them (hint hint) except when Sissy comes to visit. That is the only thing that will slow Paul down enough for him to just sit (and it kills him!) We got some great pictures while they where here and you can see them on the Pictures! page in the album Visitors. Take care all!

Gifts from Italy

This morning we the CC went from sausage and biscuits to a taste of Italy. The TPH from Italy, Susan, sent us all a treat back with her son, Joseph. It is called Limoncello Cake. Limoncello is a liquor made with lemons and sugar and a favorite of the Italians but the cake just had the flavor not the liquor! As many of you know, Dunc NEVER eats at CC. He just sits there and has his coffee while we eat. But this time, he couldn't resist!!! And for him to eat something sweet on top of that!?! I should have known it would take something from half way around the world to get him to break his diet! Ha! It was a cool treat and we thank the Italian satellite office for the thinking of us here in good ole Sharpsburg! To see us see us enjoying our treat, go to the Pictures! page and click on the Limoncello album.

Coffee Club goes to the Mountains

Everyone knows that this time of year the leaves in North Georgia are beautiful. So, we rented a van and hit the road. This was our first official Coffee Club Field Trip! And, we had a BLAST!

After church on Sunday morning Ricky and Hien went to Avis and picked up a 12 passenger van. Of course there was only 7 of us but we needed all the room! Then they headed over to Boo and N's to pick every one up. Terry came for a while, not realizing we were about to leave, but it worked out because she took a picture of all of us.

Our first stop was Panorama Apple House. As soon as we got there we were eating apple pies and ice cream. We bought perserves, apple butter and apples. Then we headed over to Mack Aaron's Apple House. That is Pet's favorite! We bought more apples and pies. We also got homemade meat skins, beef jerky and boiled peanuts. Then on to see the real *wink* reason we came-trees and leaves.

Ricky, our official driver, took us to Trackrock Campgrounds. It was awesome. The views there were breathtaking. The pictures just don't do it justice. There were still people camping there and a dog wandered up to us. She was so sweet. She let us pet her and followed us around a bit. Boo named her Chocolate.

From there, our driver took us through a couple of more campgrounds and then we headed to Dahlonega. There, we picked up Whitney from school and she went to eat with us at the Smith House. Then it was time to head home. We were gone for 10 hours and drove 325 miles! What a day. It was so much fun. I know we will do something like this again....just what? and when? Be sure to check out the pictures! I have them all posted!

Coffee Club/Birthday Party

This week the Coffee Club didn't meet because our Hostess with the mostess little feet left early Sunday morning to go on a trip with the girls. So, we delayed CC, moved it to Ricky and Hien's house and called it a birthday party. A birthday party for who??? Why for me and Kevin! We had the best time. I was really surprised by the extent my family went out for me. It was AWESOME. We had chicken wings, sub sandwiches, all the sides and cake and ice cream. Then Boo started the Redneck Rollercoaster. What is the Redneck Rollcoaster? Imagine 8 people sitting in plastic chairs on a trailer being pulled by a Jeep. I can't believe no one got hurt. It was crazy! You know how they say a picture is worth a million words? Well, there is no way I can sit here and describe it.
